UCU launched a comprehensive review of its 34 administrative departments
Doug is coordinating a top-to-bottom review of UCU’s administrative departments. This review is a first-ever for this young University. Doug relied on methods he learned at the 2009 Society for College and University Planning. For example, he has selected 4 “theme teams” – Finance, Human Resources, Performance, and Information/Communication. Each team is sending 1-2 representatives to assess each Department. They are generating short, medium, and long term recommendations for the departments. The Theme Teams are also then able to generate “cross-cutting” recommendations by pooling lessons learned from all departments by Theme area. Doug conceived the entire method and process for this project. JoEllyn was also selected from her peers to head the Information/Communication team. This gives Doug and JoEllyn a nice opportunity to work together!
