This year once again the Uganda Studies Program at UCU hosted an American-style celebration of Thanksgiving.  Held at the Bartels house on campus, the 40 US college students were joined by at least 40 other American, other Ex Pat, and Ugandans.  The feast featured grilled turkey, piles of mashed potatoes, heaps of veggies, and rolls.  The top off included about a dozen pies and a dozen more cakes and smattering of cookies and brownies.  Desert was served along with a showing of Charlie Brown’s Christmas, now a Mukono standard.  It was displayed by projector on the wall of the Bartels house…well, after the power returned that is.
